Essentials of Engagement

The Essentials of Engagement course provides the introductory concepts, tools and methods for anyone involved in engagement, in any organisation and at any level of function. This course is the initial pre-requisite course for completing the IAP2 Australasia Certificate of Engagement.

You will be able to work with key elements of engagement using IAP2 tools, models and frameworks as a foundation to further your engagement knowledge and practice.

Objectives

  • Introduce the key elements of contemporary engagement practices
  • Introduce and explore the dynamics of the Community Engagement Model (CEM) and be clear on who leads and acts in the engagement process
  • Introduce and demonstrate how to practice the IAP2 Core Values, Code of Ethics and Spectrum of Public Participation, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles
  • Advise participants how they can be guided by the IAP2A Practice Framework to design, plan, implement and review the engagement process.
